Fife Schools Sport Associations are the lead organisers of competitive school sport in Fife. All core sports are led by an association that consists of a combination of School Teachers, Active Schools Coordinators, Parents and Community club representatives who share a passion for developing their sport across our region. Each sport shares an outcome of providing a competitive sport structure for school pupils; this includes establishing/maintaining league and cup events and coordinating annual Fife championships

Fife’s First Cycle Speedway Track

Success!! The cycle speedway track at Queen Anne High School is now complete and open for keen cycling individuals to race round and compete in the sport.

Craig Masson, Queen Anne High School and Andrew Baird from Active Schools teamed up to create a facility to help grow cycle speedway across Fife.

In July 2013 they secured half of the funding needed with a £25,000 grant from Sportscotland’s active places fund. Later on, in partnership with the PTA at Queen Anne, they secured the rest of the funding from Fife Environment Trust and Carnegie Dunfermline Trust.

The local authority now aim to work with the Craig Masson, Carnegie Cyclones cycling club and plans to establish community cycle speedway teams across Fife, catering for all ages and abilities.

What a great success for Craig, Andrew and the students at Queen Anne High School. Massive congratulations from Active Schools and Sports Development Team!
